LifeMed Safety

Moving patients safely · lifecycle support

Buying the cot is where this starts.

Cots, stair chairs, power-load systems, and the transfer equipment that moves a patient from where they are to where they need to be. These carry the heaviest duty cycle of anything on the unit, so we built a dedicated cot repair and service capability around them — because a cot out of service takes the truck with it.

What this category covers

Cots, stair chairs, and the transfer equipment that moves a patient — including the powered cots and fastening systems that load them into the vehicle. Capacity, weight, and fit with the vehicles you already own are the purchasing questions; what happens when the fastener wears or the cot needs service is the question most suppliers leave for later.

This is the flagship of what LifeMed supports across the full equipment lifecycle, precisely because these systems carry the heaviest duty cycle of anything on the unit and wear where a crew cannot see it. Buying the equipment is the beginning of the relationship, not the whole of it.

What we weigh with you

Tell us what you run and how you run it. These are the things we work through before we recommend anything.

Capacity
What the equipment has to carry, honestly assessed against the calls your crews actually run.
Weight
The weight of the equipment itself is part of the load. It is carried by the same people.
Fit with your vehicles
What loads, what fastens, and what works in the vehicles you already own.
Duty cycle and upkeep
These carry the heaviest duty cycle of anything on the unit, and they wear where you cannot see it.

A dedicated cot repair and service capability.

Powered cots and fastening systems have their own failure modes and their own service demands. Through ProTek by LifeMed we run a dedicated cot repair and service capability — Stryker Power-PRO and Power-PRO XT cots, Power-LOAD fastening systems, and Ferno powered cots and stair chairs — so the equipment your crew lifts with keeps working, and the truck stays available.

Operationally, that means the same relationship carries you through evaluating what to buy, specifying it for your vehicles, installing and fastening it correctly, and then inspecting, servicing, and repairing it for as long as you run it — on-site at your station, or at our Loveland bench when a repair needs the shop. The service record stays on file for the life of each unit and is retrievable on request.

Purchasing the cot is only the beginning of the relationship. What comes after — the record, the trade-in, the funding for the next one — is built into the same relationship, not sold separately.
